After a career spanning over 25 years of owning and operating restaurants, Pat and Jay needed a change. But the question was—what? So one morning Pat uttered that famous word, “oxymoron”, and the Ox-Zy’s were born. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Well not so fast. It was a bit more complicated than that. There are plenty of words that are oxymorons—but how many could be made into a product? We had to find an artist who could put our interpretations on paper. So now we have drawings in our hands. What do we do with them? Okay, let’s have them manufactured. But how? Where? What will they be made of? Packaging? Shipping?

So as luck would have it, we found a guy who knew a guy that has a connection with another guy whose family is into manufacturing figurines. We won’t bore you with the rest of the details—like size, weight, cargo ships, customs, trucking fees, etc. But after one year from Pat saying you know what, our shipment arrived. That was a piece of cake. Now comes the tough part. Selling Ox-Zy’s to every man, woman, child and household pet in this country. Then, and only then, will we go international.

She has the incredible ability to take our quirky concepts and make them into tangible reality – and our Ox-Zy’s characters really come to life when she sits down and puts pen to paper.
